How cooperatives are carving space for dairy farming in India

GREATER NOIDA: "Milk with mines" - is the motto followed by Medha, the milk producers' cooperative that has helped thousands in Jharkhand branch out into jobs beyond mining and traditional farming.

Introduced by the state government in 2014, Medha Cooperative Milk Federation's aim was to scale up dairy business in Jharkhand, the state known for its minerals, and in turn, give its tribal population more employment opportunities.

Co-ops Not Cages is an Illinois-based worker cooperative social media business in our startup period. Within internationalist and anti-carceral lenses, our objective is to promote and support already-existing worker cooperatives without forgetting the realities of the carceral system and the pressing need for prisoner support. We are also a resource to inspire people to begin their journey to develop their own worker co-operatives or join an existing one.

MadWorC, Co-op Solidarity Fund, and Co-op Connection Network

CNC (Sarah and Chris) interviews Rek Kwawer of MadWorc (Madison, Wisconsin) cooperative. After delving into what MadWorc is, we talked about the Worker Co-op Solidarity Fund, Co-op Connection Network, and some of the intersections of incarceration and worker cooperativism.

We work to improve lives in Latin America and the Caribbean. Through financial and technical support for countries working to reduce poverty and inequality, we help improve health and education, and advance infrastructure. Our aim is to achieve development in a sustainable, climate-friendly way.

Cooperatives as a Strategy in International Food Markets

How five Latin American producer cooperatives of high-value food products have overcome the hurdles to integration with the international market for their member farmers.

Can worker cooperatives stabilize employment during a recession?

This paper uses financial accounting data of the universe of Italian worker cooperatives, from 2011 to 2018, to examine whether cooperatives were able to achieve employment stabilization in a period of prolonged recession. Since wages have experienced, in most of the period, a negative growth, we further consider whether wages’ downward flexibility had been sufficient to sustain employment stabilization and whether, under these circumstances, cooperatives’ financial solidity had weakened.
