Please join us on November 3rd to celebrate the Lower East Side People's Federal Credit Union's 25th Anniversary in New York City. The event will be held at the Astor Center from 6-9pm, at 399 Lafayette Street, and will include cocktails, a buffet dinner, live music, and awards.

This year marks an important milestone for LESPFCU. In 1986, when the last bank branch closed its doors in the Lower East Side, neighborhood residents came together to organize a community-owned financial institution, dedicated to helping local residents and businesses thrive. In its 25 years since, LESPFCU has grown to become NYC's largest community development credit union. We have served more than 20,000 members; mobilized $30 million in local savings; and reinvested $56 million back into the community in the form of personal, business and housing loans.

The credit union now serves a growing membership throughout NYC. We operate a foreclosure prevention loan fund, free tax preparation and financial counseling programs, and branches in the Lower East Side and Harlem. We are proud to serve as an antidote to high-cost and predatory lending, and as a trusted lifeline to members harmed by the economic crisis.
