Bimonthly newsletter, publishing continuously since 1992. We feature news about worker cooperatives, employee-owned and controlled businesses, and the cooperative movement in the U.S. and world-wide. GEO is a member of the Independent Press Association. We provide articles and commentary by affiliates of the U.S. Federation of Democratic Workplaces.

GEO publishes An Economy of Hope, a directory of worker co-ops, democratic ESOPs, sustainable enterprises and support organizations.

GEO promotes:

  • education about workplace democracy and alternatives to corporate globalization
  • local organizing to build, finance and expand networks of worker-owned, democratically run, community-based, ecologically sustainable enterprises inter-cooperation and resource sharing among co-ops and technical assistance groups
