I love watching movies, etc. and listening to albums on my computer, but I hardly ever last more than 10 minutes for a discussion, even about topics I am most interested in.

I was enraptured from start to finish. It was a feast of joy, intelligence, laughter, insight, challenge, vulnerability, scholarly knowledge, love, and camaraderie in spite of differences.
Go for it. This is the kind of conversation we are so capable of but is happening so seldom.
