MadWorC, (aka, Madison Workers Cooperatives,) is holding a Regional Rendezvous on March 11-12 (Wednesday and Thursday). It’s the first such event of its kind that GEO knows about.
Martha and Rebecca Kemble, Ole Olson, and Esther West talked about their idea and plans with Josh Davis and Michael Johnson in this GEO zoomcast.
They are inviting cooperative/solidarity folks from the Midwest to come together for fun, serious talk, informal getting to know each other, and tours of Madison worker co-ops. Others from anywhere in the country are also invited.
Ten to fifteen folks from the Twin Cities have already said, “Yes.” Josh will be representing GEO there. This could prove to be a model for other regions.
A structured networking session, informal games, plenty of eating, collective brainstorming, movies, participant presentations, and the famous MadWorC Hug-and-Chug are featured events. Even the mayor is being invited.
The various events will happen in various places including the Madison public library’s meeting space, and the Social Justice Center. Limited sleeping arrangements are available.
Contact them for more information at madworc@gmail.com.
