Catalyzing worker co-ops & the solidarity economy

Celebrating the First Worker Co-op Franchise

Worker-owners in NYC have made history!

Brightly® is a franchise of worker-owned cooperatives that offer eco-friendly residential and commercial cleaning services throughout the five boroughs of NYC. With support from the Center for Family Life (CFL), the democratically-managed Brightly® cooperatives improve working conditions, increase wages, and foster leadership and entrepreneurial development among workers.

Through shared marketing and operations, the Brightly® franchise model makes it easier to launch new cleaning cooperatives, grow with economies of scale, and ultimately reach more workers throughout New York City and beyond. In the process, we aim to transform the cleaning industry for workers throughout the country.

The Brightly® franchise officially launches with the incorporation of Brightly® Port Richmond, in Staten Island and Brightly® Carroll Gardens, in Brooklyn. Two new Brightly® cooperatives are currently in development in East Harlem and Washington Heights.

Join CFL and Brightly® worker-owners in a celebration of the country’s first cooperative franchise!
