Worker cooperatives recover from COVID-19 setbacks

J. Noven, a staff member and executive director at the Berkeley Student Food Collective, said a large part of how cooperatives are able to work is due to shared incentives and better treatment of workers.

“In most people’s jobs, they don’t have the opportunity to share governance or power in their workplace with their co-workers,” Noven said. “That’s a loss for building a society that is able to better care for everyone in it.”

Cooperatives must actively innovate production says Viet Nam PM

PM Chính also stressed the significance of the collective economy in international integration and the socialist-oriented economy. 

Resolution No 20-NQ/TW issued at the fifth session of the 13th Party Central Committee stated that the collective economy is an important economic sector that needs to be reinforced and developed and, together with the State-owned sector, becomes a firm foundation for the national economy, he noted.

NASCO has worked to adapt to members’ changing needs and respond to the major challenges that have emerged in the last two years. Rather than a 3-day virtual conference, this year’s NASCO Institute will be a full month of educational events, including several virtual event series, at-home guided activities, and a small in-person Member Retreat and Annual General Meeting.
