In this video, CDI's Pável Uranga interviews Venezuela's CECOSESOLA, a cooperative founded in 1967 with 1,500 worker-associates and 20,000 members. This is the first in a series of interviews we will be publishing to understand how cooperatives in countries facing conflict manage to thrive and support their communities. Central Cooperative of Lara State (CECOSESOLA) encompasses 53 cooperatives, including 15 dedicated to agricultural production, supporting 250 families. The cooperative also includes a funeral home, where 23,000 families contribute a small weekly amount to ensure dignified services for up to nine family members. Their Comprehensive Cooperative Health Center (CICS) serves more than 250,000 people each year.
